Knowing that our past experiences lead us to where we are today, I work by listening carefully to deepen a plan that focuses on assertive communication, understanding and realizing that our partner reflects our needs.

Stress, anxiety and depression are common reasons people seek therapy. However, the need for intervention runs deeper. Whatever the immediate problem, it is about understanding that these emotions highlight the need for a plan to address the underlying issues and promote growth.

Listening is crucial for children and adolescents, as we often overlook their need for attention. Their behavior can be a wake-up call. I use mindfulness and play therapy, along with emotional management techniques and assessments when necessary, to help young people develop resilience and emotional intelligence.
I have a degree in Psychology from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) with an emphasis in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and a Master's degree in Mindfulness from the Latin American Technological University Online (UTEL). I received certification as a mindfulness facilitator from the Mexican Mindfulness Institute (IMM) as well as from the International Mindfulness Teachers Association (IMTA). I also have training in sexual abuse prevention from the Centro de Terapia Familia y de Pareja (CEFAP) and have participated in Alcoholics Anonymous training conferences and spoken at AA meetings.
I was born in Mexico and moved to the United States when I was twenty years old. I was married for 21 years to a man who grew up in the United States and raised my four daughters in both countries. This helped me learn to overcome cultural differences and maintain family relationships across distance and language barriers.
I believe that our thoughts lead to actions and our actions lead to habits. That is why I integrate both CBT and Mindfulness into my therapy; this way, no matter what specific issues you bring up in our sessions, we always maintain a holistic approach that focuses on your life goals and relationships.
